Estate Sale
By Owner: Bonnie Meier

On March 20 we launched another estate sale. We have so many "new" items this time that we opened our back end to some of the bigger things. We have a large old "mission" desk with a fold out area to write on and shelves on the side for books or nick knacks, an old treadle sewing machine, a doll collection, a Coca-Cola collection, a lot of glass wear, and many, many other items (see some of them on Facebook). Everything will be full price until March 25 when the prices for the estate items will come down 10% each hour until 2:00 p.m. when everything is 50% off. We will keep the items around for a little while until we need to start getting ready for the Tulip Festival.

New Items - Seasonal Napkins
By Owner: Bonnie Meier

I’m probably a little premature about this, but soon we will be carrying some very nice napkins with several different themes. We have always carried Dutch napkins, but we hope to expand a little. The trickiest part is always finding a good company with which to work, but we have identified a good company and hope to have a new selection soon. I understand that we will be getting some "new" used books in soon as well. Those come from an uncle who lives in Rapid City. He periodically sends us good books. They often go quickly. We have some avid readers around here.

Spring Open House: April 19-22
By Owner: Bonnie Meier

Before our next newsletter we will have a spring sale. At that time any estate items left will be 50% off, but we will have a table of our regular items that will be 20% off as well. That table will include milk chocolate, dark chocolate and anise sprinkles. If you want to have a unique breakfast, toast a piece of bread, spread generously with butter and than coat with sprinkles made in Holland. My favorite is the anise. They come in other flavors, also, but those are the three flavors that we have in the store.

Getting Ready for Tulip Festival
By Owner: Bonnie Meier

The Tulip Festival this year will be held May 18, 19 and 20. It is too early to be able to tell if our tulips will be right for it yet. We will put a more complete schedule in the April newsletter. Don’t forget that we have a very complete selection of wooden shoes. We do give a discount if you are participating in the Tulip Festival activities. We also have "wooden shoe" carpet slippers in two different designs and "wooden shoe" garden clogs. Both the clogs and the slippers are very comfortable. We also carry both men and women's Dutch hats and many Dutch souvenirs.

Perusing our Guest Book
By Owner: Bonnie Meier

We will include guests from both February and March this month since last month's letter was written in Florida and I didn't have access to the guest book at the time. This is usually a slower time of the year because many people from around here go south for awhile or just stay in their houses rather than shop in the cold. However, we did have people in our store from Arizona, California, Florida, Kansas, Kentucky, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Dakota, Virginia, West Virginia, Wisconsin, and all over Iowa. We also had several students from Japan visit us. Hr
