On October 19 the Orange City Chamber of Commerce had a special speaker talk to our local businesses. Scott Meyer of 9clouds marketing talked to us about using technology in our businesses. That afternoon Scott came to our store to give us some individual help. He suggested that we sign up with Shopify, which is a web site on which we can sell items from our store. We have so many unique items, we thought that might be a good idea. So, for the next couple of months, we will give it a try. If we have good results, we will stay on the site, but if we don’t see any results, we’ll call it a good try. Our address is jubon-juweelen.com. We don’t have much on it right now, but next month we’ll put a direct link from our newsletter to our shopping page.

Birthday Sale: November 5, 6 and 7
By Co-Owner: Bonnie Meier

On November 5, 6 and 7 we will be celebrating our 5th birthday party. Everything in the store will be on sale. You will purchase what you want and then pop a balloon to find your discount. The discounts will range from 10% - 40%. We have several new products in for our party. We just brought it several new Melissa & Doug puzzles for very young children, we hope that our Christmas chocolates from Holland will be in and we have some beautiful new tiles that have an artist’s rendition of our Chamber windmill with Orange City, Iowa inscribed on it. We sent over 600 reminder cards to anyone who has ever put their full address in our guest book. If you would like a card and didn’t receive one, please e-mail bonnie@jubon.biz and I’ll be happy to send you one.

Final Days of Estate Sale
By Co-Owner: Bonnie Meier

We are into our final few days of our estate sale. For two days (October 24 – 26) we will have what is left at 75% off. We don’t always discount items that much, but this time we are. On Tuesday, October 27 everything will be gone one way or another. We probably won’t have another estate sale until late winter or early spring. During our estate sales we broaden what we normally sell in the store. Some items we still have on hand as of the writing of this newsletter include books, small items from around the world, a Japanese doll, some old tools, a set of Fiskar knives, a 25th anniversary plate from Japan, a French Limoge plate, some art glass, a few nice Christmas items, bells from a large bell collection and an 1880 Explanation of the Epistles and Gospels.

After Christmas Sales
By Co-Owner: Bonnie Meier

This year we plan on continuing our five-day after Christmas pre-inventory sales. We count everything in the store in January and to make our life a little easier we offer some great sales. The day after Christmas all beads and findings will be 50% off. On December 28 all sewing items will be 50% off, December 29 all knitting items, December 30 all quilting items and December 31 disc golf items, games and puzzles will be 50% off. These are all just one-day sales and are meant to deplete our inventory a little so that we don’t have to count it.
