Inventory Complete, Up 25%

It took a long time, but we finally completed our inventory for the end of the year 2012. We have 25% more invested in new, retail items than we did a year ago. We have twice as many disc golf items as last year and the Dutch item inventory went up by more than 60%. The average increase of all items was 20.31%. This does not take into account any of the consignment items as those are not included in our inventory. We continue to try to provide a variety of shopping experiences so that customers can find more and more items right in Orange City and not have to travel to neighboring towns to fill their needs.

Large outdoor windmills now available at Jubon Juweelen

By Co-Owner: Bonnie Meier

Ever since we opened our doors almost 2 ½ years ago people have been asking for large windmills that they could put outside in their yards or gardens. We finally have a source. James R. Siebersma began building two sizes of wooden windmills this past fall. His windmills are painted white and trimmed in light blue, Delft blue, Dutch green or red. However, he is open to trimming them in any color desired. The larger windmills are approximately 40 inches tall and can be taken apart for ease of transportation. The smaller windmills are approximately 10 inches shorter. Jubon Juweelen has a large and a smaller one displayed in its windows, however, J.R. will take requests. We are really happy that we finally have a source for a much requested item.

friends of Jubon Juweelen

By Co-Owner: Bonnie Meier

Last month we told you about Idelle Vogel, one of our substitute clerks. This month we would like to introduce you to the three owners of Jubon. Jubon is owned by Bonnie Meier, Juliana Korver, Clinton Korver (mother, daugher and son). Jubon began as an Internet company over four years ago. Two and a half years ago it branched out into the dba of Jubon Juweelen. The name Jubon came from our three names. JU for Juliana, BO for Bonnie and the N stands for a nickname that Juliana called Clint when they were little and before she could say Clinton. Juliana lives in Bowling Green, Kentucky and makes many of the handmade items that we feature in our store. Clinton lives in Atherton, California and provides business and financial advice. Bonnie and her husband, Lee Meier are the workhorses of the enterprise, putting in three hours every Saturday, seven hours four days a week and over 10 hours on Wednesday. It is quite an interesting way to spend our "retirement".
