Centrum Foto will be giving away a family portrait session and Jubon Juweelen will be giving away gift certificates to celebrate Valentine's Day in Orange City. Registration boxes are located in the businesses and two lucky couples will receive prizes given through the Orange City Chamber of Commerce. Registration boxes went out on January
16 and will be in the stores until February 3. On February 3 each business with a box will draw a name and call it in to the Chamber office. The Chamber will then pick two
couples from the names received. The Valentine's Day weekend will be celebrated February 10 & 11.

Disc Golf Courses Marked with Small Basket on Jubon Maps

Before long it will be time to dust the discs off to start the 2012 disc golf season. Two of our Jubon communities have nice disc golf courses. They are marked on the maps with a small basket icon..
Sioux Rapids has a course that is located partially on the school property and partially in a county park. It is a beautiful setting and many of the holes follow the perimeter of a little lake. If you are really brave, you can throw over some water, but many beginners choose to take the safer way and keep their throws over land.
The second disc golf course indicated on a Jubon map is in Alton, IA. That course is even more dangerous with regard to water shots as the course plays clockwise around water. It is partially because of that course that Jubon Juweelen started carrying both disc golf putters and drivers that float. That's right, there are golf discs that float. They were very popular last summer.
Take a look at Alton and Sioux Rapids to find the disc golf courses. If you haven't tried disc golf, you are in for a treat as it is an inexpensive and wonderful family sport.
Treasure is still out there

The Jubon8 is still out there. If you live anywhere near Orange City, go to the Jubon map, check out all the billboards and see if you can find the billboard that contains a moneybag. When you find it, physically go to that business and ask for the Jubon clues.
The clerk will give you several clues that will help you locate the Jubon8 (little red felt car about 6 inches long). If you are the first to find the Jubon8, take it to the Orange City Chamber Office (windmill on the south end of town) and redeem it for Chamber bonus bucks.
