Happy Thanksgiving

I was reading last year's Journal and saw that a year ago we had an ice storm in Orange City. Hopefully the weather will be a little nicer this year. Let's all be thankful for the blessings we have received this past year.

Next week Saturday on December 3 Sinterklaas will be coming to Orange City along Zwarte Pieten. That is always a big day for the children. I remember it from my childhood. That and the turning on of the beautiful Christmas decorations that are strung across our streets officially opens the Christmas season in Orange City.

Ambank Insurance Moving to a New Location

Ambank Insurance, longtime Jubon client, will be moving from their present location at 111 Second Street NE to the location on Highway 10 of the former Pizza Hut on November 29. The building has been completely rebuilt. Dale Hiemstra, an Ambank Insurance agent, will be moving from an office of approximately 400 square feet to about 1600 square feet.

Around the first of the year Jim Poppema, another independent agent, will be joining them. Jim has been working in Hospers for some time. Watch for the Grand Opening. Treasure Found in Orange City

Congratulations to Judy DeJong who was able to find the Money Bag on the Jubon map this month. The Treasure has been moving all over the map the last few months but October it was hidden at Jubon Juweelen in celebration of their 1st anniversary in business. The only way to find the treasure is to go to the online map at jubon.biz and travel around the streets until you find the picture of a money bag then go to that store and get the clues. The clues for this treasure were: 1) Some people travel and others just read about it, 2) The bigger the better, and 3) soft is the key.

Follow the clues to the felted Jubon logo hidden in the store.  Then take the felted car to The Chamber Office and redeem it for Chamber Bucks.  This month the car was hidden in the Large Paperback Book section of the store. It isn't hard to win but you can't win if you don't play. Find the Treasure this month in another store near you.
