Alton Makes Tracks Online with Jubon

By Alton City Administrator: Dale Oltmans

Alton celebrated 125 years of making tracks in 2008. This small town still has a lot going on and has jumped on Jubon to make some online tracks as well. Alton is a fun place to visit and live. New shops are popping up and there are those tried and true businesses that everyone has enjoyed for years. Heading up the town is the Alton City Hall, which houses the City Administrator-Dale Oltmans, the Mayor-Ron Minten, and the City Council.

The City of Alton manages the Municipal Utilities and Parks and Recreation. They have many things to offer, including the band shell park, Roadside Park that includes a disc golf course, baseball & softball fields, swimming pool, a private 9-hole golf course, two schools, a public library and other community activities throughout the year. You don't get to be over 125 without working together through city, business, and community involvement. We welcome the City of Alton to Jubon.

Salon Centra Correction

By Co-Founder: Bonnie Meier

Heather Paulsen from Salon Centra in Alton contacted us and told us that we had her personal e-mail in the last Jubon Journal. She stated that she does not want people to schedule appointments on her personal e-mail because she does not check it often enough. So if you want to have an appointment with Deb, please call her at 712.756.4477, don't e-mail her. She currently does not have an e-mail address for the salon. If that changes, we will inform you in the journal.

Find Treasure on Jubon

By Sales Representative: Teresa Brunsting

The Jubon treasure was located at K-Products Outlet Store this month. It was found quite quickly by Paula Lourens. K-Products outlet store carries products made by Staples and has been in business in the downtown area for one year (they opened around the same time Jubon Juweelen did). They moved from at their original location on K-64 where they served customers for many years before that.

Paula took the treasure to the Chamber Office to receive her Chamber bonus bucks which can be spent in any store belonging to the Orange City Chamber. The clues this month were:

  1. Jubon 8 is afraid of the dark
  2. It is in a place that we store dishes in our homes
  3. What do golfer's say if they think they might hit someone with their ball?
The treasure was found in a dark cabinet in the front of the store. The fourth cabinet.

A new treasure will be hidden on November 1st. Check all the Orange City billboards on Jubon to find the moneybag to know where to begin your search. Be the first to find Jubon8, return it to the Chamber office and receive Chamber bonus bucks.
