Joupon #1 is Successful!

By Co-Founder: Bonnie Meier

Centrum Arts & Foto in Orange City offered Joupon that was successful last month. The offer coincided with their Grand Opening to commemorate the beginning of their third year of operation. To help celebrate they offered a Joupon (Jubon community coupon) , which gave a 50% discount on a "green" photo. Five reservations where needed for the offer to be viable and that minimum was met.

Those who purchased a Joupon said the process was simple and easy to do. You pay for the Joupon with either Pay Pal or a credit card. You receive a receipt immediately. If the minimum number is not met, your credit card is reimbursed. This is one more way that Jubon can be beneficial to both businesses and communities.

Current Joupon

By Co-Founder: Bonnie Meier

The second Joupon is still available, though it will expire at the end of today. This one might be a little more challenging because the minimum reservation is 30. The offer is from the Orange City Chamber of Commerce. They are offering a 2 for the price of 1 on their Value Cards, which give over $1500 in savings at local businesses that belong to the Chamber. However the deadline for using the cards is the end of September. At that time new Value Cards are issued.

There is no cost to a business to offer a Joupon. Some of the rules are that it has to be at least a savings of 50%. The idea is for the merchant to gain some new customers and exposure.

Community coupons are quite popular in many cities and are usually only available for one day. Jubon is experimenting with leaving the offers on for a week. If you have any questions or would like to have a Joupon on the site for your business, please contact us.

Jubon is Moving

By Co-Founder: Bonnie Meier

Next month Jubon will move to a new location. Bonnie and Lee Meier purchased an "old" building in downtown Orange City and will move Jubon and Sherwood Forest Grants into 109 3rd Street NE.

The first entry in the Orange City abstract office for this property is 1870, the year that Orange City was founded. The location is just three doors east of the Main Street and is in the main business district.

Along with the move a new retail business will be formed called Jubon Juweelen. Juweelen is a Dutch word that means Jewels. The new business will sell notions (sewing items, i.e. zippers, bias tape, thread, etc), disc golf discs, antiques, used books, a Queen Victoria area for unique gifts plus more.

Like most small communities, Orange City needs more retail businesses and this should be a nice addition to our community. All coupons and special prices for Jubon Juweelen will be listed on Jubon.biz. A computer will be set up in the retail area with Jubon.biz on the screen to encourage people to use Jubon.
