Estate Sale starting March 19 We are going to have another estate sale starting March 19. We don't know exactly what we will have yet because stuff is still coming in. So, please put that date on your calendar. We will try to get the word out in most of the local papers. Hopefully, the weather will be nice by then. Tulip Festival Extravaganza On March 14 Orange City will be celebrating their Tulip Festival Extravaganza. That is the time when we first get to see the costumes designed this year for the Queen and her Court. We also get to see a little preview of the night show which will be Beauty and the Beast this year. If you interested in attending this (at noon), please contact our Chamber of Commerce at 712-707- 4510. January Door Prizes On January 31 we drew for three door prizes that people had signed up for all of January. If anyone bought $10 or more then could register for three gift certificates. First prize was a $100 gift certificate won by Rose Ann Mulder from Orange City. Second prize was a $50 gift certificate won by Terry Jordan of Hospers and third prize was a $25 gift certificate won by Wanda Wichers. I think Wanda was from LeMars. Congratulations to our three winners. Future Possibilities We are still not sure of what our future looks like; just that we will open our home based business (still called Jubon Juweelen) on August 1 st, 2018. If you would like to check into owning out building, contact Jim Van Gorp with Siouxland Town & Country Realty, LLC in Orange City, Iowa. The office telephone number is 712-737-4849 and Jim's cell phone is 712-441-4436. We hope we have more direction by the end of May after the Tulip Festival. Perusing our Guest Book I don't have any information right now because we are on vacation in San Diego. When I look to my right I see the white caps on the Pacific Ocean. When I look straight ahead I see the channel that boats, etc. use to get from Mission Bay to the Ocean. Yesterday we saw three porpoises swimming along the channel. We are in the last house on the point of Mission Beach with water on three sides of us. I understand it is icy in Orange City today so this is a nice reprieve. What makes it super special is that both our son and his family and daughter and her friend are here, too. In fact, Juliana just lives about three miles from where we are staying. When we get back home it will be almost March and spring can't be far behind. Yesterday we had the privilege of watching Juliana, her friend Rick, and multiple Freestyle World Champion, Dave Murphy freestyling on the beach at La Jolla Shores. Dave is a legend in the sport and there is no wondering why when you have the privledge of seeing him play. It was like watching something that you usually have to pay to see. Fun. | |||||||
